In 2008, Barry Klarberg formed Monarch Wealth and Business Management LLC, a full service Family Office firm. Barry received a BBA and MS in Taxation as well as an Honorary Doctorate from Pace University and maintains his Series 65. He was an Adjunct Professor of Taxation at Pace University from 1985-1989. In the Fall of 2017, Klarberg will teach "Business Developments in Sports" at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Barry began his career at Deloitte in 1981, where he spent 11 years as the National Director of Sports and Entertainment. In 1992, he formed KRT Business Management, a firm specializing in Wealth Management Services which he eventually sold to Assante. Preceding Monarch, Barry spent two years as Senior Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners, LLC, heading up Guggenheim Wealth Services in New York and Los Angeles offices. His team managed over 100 client relationships during his tenure. Prior to joining Guggenheim Partners, Barry was responsible for managing Assante Wealth Services and Loring Ward Private Family Office. Barry has been internationally recognized as a leader in the area of financial counseling to Athletes, Entertainers, and High Net Worth individuals. Barry was elected to the "Sports Business Journals' 40 under 40." He regularly appears on CNN, CNBC and The Wall Street Journal Report. Barry is also a partner/owner of the New York Yankees, YES Network, New York FC (MLS) and Las Vegas Golden Knights (NHL).
Partner and Managing Director
Josh Klein is a Partner and Managing Director of Monarch Business and Wealth Management LLC. Josh started his career in Business Management working as an intern for Assante Wealth Management while attending the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. Immediately after graduating, he moved to New York to begin work for Assante’s successor Loring Ward. At Loring Ward, Josh learned the business from the ground up, beginning as an account executive handling the financial lives of some of music and sport’s top performers. Interacting with all aspects of the business, Josh spent the majority of his time working on accounting for music tours, record labels, publishing, and multi-state taxation for athletes. Josh then joined Guggenheim Partners, LLC, where he took on a new role as an Account Manager, handling clients directly and managing a staff of 8. In 2009, Josh decided to leave Guggenheim and form Monarch with two other partners. Since forming Monarch, Josh has become a nationally recognized leader in the area of business management. He has been actively involved in a number of philanthropic and educational initiatives such as the National Meningitis Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association and most recently he sat on the advisory board of the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Tom Fitzgerald is a partner and managing director of Monarch Business and Wealth Management LLC. He has been with Monarch since inception. He spent the first 12 years of his career in public accounting (including two years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, two years at Deloitte and eight years at Ernst & Young LLP). At Monarch, Tom specializes in the area of business management for athletes, athlete executives, musicians, models and music producers. Tom graduated in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Saint Bonaventure University (Olean, NY). He has served on the United States Olympic Committee’s Board of Directors and was an active member of their Accounting and Finance Committee for four years. Tom is actively involved in several church and charitable organizations in Manhattan. He enjoys surfing, yoga and travelling. He has lived in Moscow, Prague and Stockholm and has traveled to over 30 countries in the world.
Harry E. Tawil is a Principal at Monarch Business & Wealth Management as well as a Partner at
GMM Capital LLC. Harry graduated from Baruch College in New York City with a B.B.A. in
Economics and a minor in Political Science.
Before graduating, Harry started Kinersis Renewables, an independent power producer focused
on the development, and operation of utility scale wind and solar projects spanning six
countries and three continents. After a successful exit, Harry joined GMM Capital LLC as a partner.
Harry manages the investment team, funding numerous entities both public and private.
These include Delta Galil (TASE: DELT), a global manufacturer of apparel for Nike, Lululemon,
as well as for Delta owned 7 For All Mankind & Splendid. Delta has annual sales exceeding $1.5 billion.
At Monarch, Harry focuses on the macro level, developing business strategies,
referring top level clients, and reviewing private equity transactions for clients.
Since joining Monarch in 2016, Harry has contributed to the ever-growing client list
and steady success of Monarch.
Harry lives in New York City with his wife and daughter. He is actively involved with
various non-profit organizations including the Special Children’s Center and the Safra
Synagogue of Manhattan. In Harry’s spare time he enjoys playing tennis and is an
avid music and sports fan.
Harry is a partner/owner in the Vegas Golden Knights.
Matt Klarberg is a Vice President at Monarch Business & Wealth Management. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance & Sports Marketing from Indiana University- Bloomington in 2006.
Matt started his career as an Analyst at Guggenheim Partners in 2006 focusing on wealth management as well as structuring corporate owned insurance policies. In 2008, he took on a role at Massey & Quick & Co. LLC as a fund analyst concentrating on alternative investments and fund of funds.
In 2010, Matt joined Monarch handling the day to day business management of various athletes, entertainers and high net worth families. In addition, he has initiated many branding and endorsement opportunities in spirits, beverage and cosmetics.
He has been actively involved in various charity organizations – including the National Meningitis Association (Auction Chair), the USO and the Run to Daylight Education Program.
In 2012, Matt was awarded the honorary title Kentucky Colonel, the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky by Governor Steven Beshear, in recognition of his noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to the greater community.
